Yesterday my mate John asked me:

“Dave, why am I overweight?”

I could have said something nice in

return not to offend him, but if I did

that I would be lying to him, which

is probably worse…

So I told it to him straight:

“John, you are overweight for a few

reason. The first being look at what

you eat, I know you work late shifts

but eating takeaway meals 4 night a

week and most of your other meals

being ready meals is one big problem.

Secondly, except for walking around

in work, you don’t do any other

exercises at all.

Finally you currently have no reason

to lose weight, yes you already now

the benefits such as you wouldn’t

sweat as much and could last longer

than 5 minutes at five a side but you

mustn’t want too”

John turn round to me and said he

already knew that, he then began to

feel sorry for himself and started to

give me a few excuses at why he

couldn’t lose weight

But before he even got to his second

excuse I jumped in…

“John, does someone force you to

eat toxic, rubbish, low in nutrition

foods like ready meals?

Does someone force you not to get up

and go for a walk in the morning or

even find a workout online that you

can do at home?”

I then told Joh what to do:

1. Plan your week on a Sunday, when

you are working, what event the kids

have on etc. Then plan when you can

eat at home and when you need to

take food with you to work.

2. Make all the food on that Sunday too,

foods that you can freeze or foods you

will need to grab when you are in a rush

3. The minute you get home, chuck out

all the crap you have in your cupboards,

fringe and freezer

this and get going!
